This hike starts just across the bridge, on the far side from the office. It heads north, opposite the Hammerkop hiking path, which heads south. The first section of the walk leads up by a river before heading further up into the hills and wilderness.

There are some interesting rock formations on the route, similar to the Cederberg. The trail also leads through fun passageways and through little canyons filled with undergrowth.

Near the highest point, there are great views over the hills and mountains in the distance. Make sure to keep an eye out for the hiking signs, which are often painted on the rocks. Sometimes you have to walk through cracks in the cliffs, and at other times quite near the cliff edges.

The final small challenge is crossing a small stream. Once on the other side, it’s easy walking down to a track and then through a field. This track leads you back to the main collection of buildings and the end of the Gifboom Route Hike at Gifberg Holiday Farm.
