From the car park by the roundabout, head north past the roundabout and along the side road. This leads you through the newer part of Carema. After about 750 metres, just before you reach the main road, take the path to the right. You should see the yellow Carema Sentieri dei Vigneti (Camera Wine Walk) hiking signs.

Head up around the buildings and into the fields. You’ll see some signs of old terraces, and continue uphill until you reach the Chapel of San Rocco. There are really great views from here across the vineyards and to the older, medieval part of Camera.

After you’ve enjoyed the views, continue onwards, down a little passage, through the scenic vineyards and towards the village. You’ll pass some cute little streets and an old church as you wind your way through the village. On the other side, continue along the track and back into the vineyards.

When you reach the little road, turn left and then almost immediately right again. After a little uphill on the track, you’ll reach a chapel and more great views. Walk onwards and then turn right to start the descent. The track winds downwards, still with great views, and then flat again through the grapes.

Eventually, you’ll turn left back towards the village. At the corner, follow the signs left as although it looks like a path, the route straight on is actually a drainage ditch. Soon you’ll come to the road. Turn right and you’ll be back at the car park. If you want to try the local wine, there’s a winery and shop just here, selling the famous Nebbiolo of Camera.
