Short Walking Route around Barbaresco Vineyards
From the car park by the tower, first have a little look around the small town. You can climb up the tower (open 9am-6/7pm, tickets cost €6/5) to learn more about the history of the region, it’s wine, and for great views. When you’re ready, leave the village along the central road.
Take the left fork at the end of the buildings, then turn left at the crossroads. You’ll now be walking along the crest of a gentle ridge surrounded by vineyards. About 500 metres after the junction, take the smaller road to the left. This lane leads through more vineyards with great views back to Barbaresco town.
After a while, you’ll return to the larger road. Head down here all the way to the bottom. Just before the bridge, walk down the small grassy slope on the left to join the hiking trail under the bridge. Turn right and continue to walk through some lovely hazelnut groves.
When you reach a track, turn right to head up the hill. This is a really lovely section of the walk as you wind through a large scenic bowl covered in vineyards. Don’t forget to look behind you! Continue to the top of the hill, and head straight across at the junction to return to Barbaresco and the end of this walk.
