Stay at one of the best places in Alsace by reading our guide – from boutique hotels to self-catering apartments and campsites.

Map of the Best Places to Stay in Alsace

There are many great places to stay in Alsace, from self-catering apartments to luxury hotels, campsites and everything in between. In the high season (July-August and over Christmas) it’s worth booking accommodation far in advance. Other weekends also get busy, such as Easter and other public holidays in Baden-Wuttemberg (the neighbouring German state). During these times, it’s also best to book in advance, including at the campsites.

If you’re interested in exploring any of Alsace Villages, read our Best Villages in Alsace post. If you’d like to walk further and go on longer hikes through the countryside, check out our Best Walking Routes in Alsace article, or see our France Hiking page.

Best Campsites in Alsace

Best Campsites in Alsace

Campsites are some of the best places to stay in Alsace. Many villages in Alsace have their own municipal campsite. These generally have good facilities, are clean and fairly cheap, but some can feel slightly enclosed within the suburbs of the towns. Most have spots for both campervans and tents. During busy periods, including Christmas, Easter Weekend and summer, the campsites tend to get fully booked. This is particularly true for campervans, while those with just a tent are more likely to be able to simply turn up and get a spot.
