Doubice Loop Walking Route
From the car park head along the track. There is a shortcut you can take to cut out the bend if you walk along the smaller path to your left. The route then continues along the track through the forest.
At the next main junction, turn left as it bends left and downwards, then right around the head of a gentle valley. Continuing along this main track leads you through the forest with small sections of open, until eventually you reach the road.
The Courtship Hunting Hut
Turn right on the road and around the corner until you reach the Courtship Hunting Hut, or Hunting Lodge. These are a collection of lovely timber buildings and you can get refreshments here. When you’re ready, return a short distance along the road and take the first path on the left.
Narrow Steps, or Úzké Schody
This path leads upwards towards the head of a small valley. From here you have a choice – the easy route straight onwards up the gentle steps, or the adventurous route to the right. This latter route is called the Narrow Steps, or Úzké Schody in Czech. The path leads to the base of some cliffs and then through the cliffs via a series of ladders and tunnels. It’s a fun route and you’ll also find a lovely viewpoint when you get to the top.
It’s only a short distance through the rocks, and from the viewpoint at the top the path is now easier. It heads left and winds along the edge of the steep slope with more nice views of cool rocks. There’s another short section of uphill, and you meet the easier trail again.
At the little junction turn right to walk across the top of the forest on a nice small path. Eventually you’ll meet a hut and a larger track. Turn right here and follow the track as it bends right. You’ll return to the junction near the beginning of this loop walk.
From here, return the way you came. You’ll soon be back at the car park and the end of the Doubice Loop Walk.
